ACCESSIBILITY AT TOKENCON

TokenCon is for everyone—whether you are a seasoned board gamer or new to board games, whatever your age, whoever you are, whatever you enjoy—there’s room for everyone at the table! Hosted by the Oklahoma Boardgame Community, TokenCon is Oklahoma’s foremost event for boardgaming enthusiasts. Join us at Delta Hotels by Marriott Midwest City at the Reed Conference Center for a day or a weekend of gaming. We welcome everyone at TokenCon, which is why we have created this guide to accessibility at the con. You will find information about what to expect and what accommodations are available.

  • Accessible restrooms are available on each floor of the building.
  • Elevators and escalators provide access between levels of the convention center.
  • Elevators are available for travel between levels in the hotel.
  • All public areas are accessible for individuals with mobility impairments.

Getting Assistance

An Information Desk is located on the bottom floor of the Conference Center near the main entrance. This Info Desk is staffed with TokenCon Crew members from 9am to 9pm each day of the convention. Please visit the Info Desk for support with questions around accessibility and navigation of the event, lost-and-found, scheduled events, and any other questions or concerns.

In addition, TokenCon staff and volunteers are available throughout the convention to assist you. If you need help, please look for a team member wearing a TokenCon Crew shirt.

Sensory Accessibility

Sensory Aware certification badge

TokenCon has once again partnered with Square Holes, a local neurodiversity consulting organization, to certify our event as Sensory Aware. This certification ensures that neurodivergent attendees and those with sensory processing challenges can fully participate and feel safe and comfortable at the convention.

Sensory-Friendly Offerings

  • Staff and volunteers have received training on neurodiversity and sensory accessibility.
  • Attendees are encouraged to bring items such as noise-canceling headphones, fidgets, or weighted pads for comfort.
  • A quiet gaming area is available in the Atrium on the 1st floor, and in an additional room near the hotel lobby. While gaming in these spaces, please keep voices low, devices on silent, and respect the space of those around you.
  • The Haven is a quiet area available for attendees who need a break from the crowds and noise. This space offers a place to decompress, regroup, and recharge. No games are allowed in this space. Please be mindful that this is a shared resource, and space may be limited.

We are committed to making TokenCon an inclusive and enjoyable experience for everyone. If you have any specific needs or questions, please reach out to us before the event or speak with a staff member on-site.
